Uddeholm need no introduction to the forestry industry they have been making steel for over 300 years, the company's
first steel mill was built by Johan Karlström at Stjärnsfors and named Uddeholms Bruk (Uddeholm Mill) in 1668.  The timing
and location were perfect. There was a strong demand for steel in Europe and the county of Värmland had both iron ore
and forests for fuel in abundance.
